Custom Width up to 2.6 m: Coating for Large-Format Applications

As displays, backlight units and industrial laminates grow larger, film width quietly becomes a yield factor. When a protective or optical film is narrower than the substrate being covered, converters must splice strips together — and every splice is a potential defect zone: an alignment mark, a thickness step, a weakness in the lamination. Sourcing wider film removes those risks at the root.
ORISUN coats custom widths up to 2.6 meters. For a large backlight diffuser panel or a wide die-cut sheet, a single-piece construction means no splice marks in the visible area, no secondary cutting loss, and faster line speed on the customer's own equipment. The yield gain is most obvious in display and large-format die-cutting, where one additional meter of useful width can eliminate an entire processing step.
Wide-width coating is not simply a bigger machine; it is a control problem. Across 2.6 meters, maintaining uniform coating weight, flat tension profile and stable drying is considerably harder than across a narrow web. Our wide lines use multi-station coating heads and segmented tension control to keep cross-web variation tight, so the edge of a 2.6 m roll behaves like the center.
Custom width also works in the other direction. Narrow slits — down to a few millimeters for precision die-cutting — are slit cleanly on our high-speed slitters with edge quality suited to automated dispensing and pick-and-place. Whether you need 6 mm tapes or 2.6 m sheets, the specification is coated to order, not cut down from a standard.
If your process is fighting splice-related defects, send us your substrate dimensions. Our engineers will propose a width that fits your yield model, and the pilot line will prove it before you commit.
